Life Goals release ‘Sharked Toothed’ into the wild

Life Goals, a project put together by Speaking Tongues label founder Tom Aylott, have released a brand new song called ‘Shark Toothed’.

Of the track, Aylott said “Shark Toothed is one of the most aggressive songs that I’ve ever written, and the subject matter of the track shouldn’t really be a mystery when you look at the lyrics. It’s also departure from the previous material and further away from my eponymous material. The song came together in about an hour on Tuesday and is available now in all the usual places.”

The track is available to stream below.

Spotify / iTunes.

Tom Aylott releases new version of Commission

Tom Aylott (Rob Lynch / The Gospel Youth) has today released ‘Commission’ as a single to all digital retailers.

The song was originally issued as a solo song on his ‘Factions’ EP, and has been beefed up with a new arrangement and a Manic Street Preachers cover as the B-Side.

On the release, Aylott said “Commission isn’t about leaving the EU, it just happens that I thought today would be a perfect day to release the new version” and continues ” The world faces the worst refugee crisis in living memory and the future of our species depends on the ability of governments to work together to curtail global warming. If we hide away behind nationalism, the UK will become an impotent joke in a single generation.”

The single is also available on Spotify and iTunes

The Gospel Youth release two new songs and launch 2016 crowdfunding

The Gospel Youth have released two brand new songs. Resolutions and DST make up the band’s first release of 2016, following two EPs and appearances on bills with Mallory Knox, Deaf Havana, We Are The Ocean and more in 2015. Of the tracks, vocalist Sam Little says “Resolutions and DST are a lot darker and probably a lot more bitter than anything anyone’s heard from us, but I think it’s the best we’ve ever sounded and we’re so excited to finally release them”

Music videos for both tracks are available to watch now on the band’s YouTube channel:

A 7″ vinyl of Resolutions / DST is available to preorder now via Scylla Records, and the songs will be released digitally by Speaking Tongues in the next few days.

The songs kick off the band’s 2016 single series, which will be funded in part by a crowd funding campaign. Sam had the following to say about the campaign:

“We’re trying something a little different for our second year as a band, something that means we’re basically putting our future in the hands of our fans. Even though we’re writing new material all the time, going into a studio and recording debut album felt like a mountain to climb when we started speaking about it, and we felt that releasing music gradually suits the way that we operate as a band – it also means the music gets to mature and grow with us. We wanted to give the people that believe in this as much as we do the opportunity to make a real difference, and we think we’ve put together that’s totally worth getting involved in”

Head to the band’s website now to read about the campaign and how you can get involved:

The Gospel Youth play select dates next month in support of the new singles.
